On the radio

If you’ve ever dreamed of writing or producing a hit song, I think I’ve come up with the right formula:

1. Start with a strong piano solo with a repetitive chord combination. Preferably some haunting chords like Mary J. Blige’s Real Love or Erasure’s A Little Respect.

2. Get Pitbull to say “Dale!” or  anything else he feels like saying, throughout the track. Hell, just get him to leave you a voicemail and sample that.

3. Make a music video that imitates another music video or movie theme, like Party Rock Anthem or Telephone.

And that’s it. That’s all you need. Just stick to those three principles and you should be okay.
