Ghost of Christmas past

Some say that paranormal activity is nothing more than the traces of energy that humans leave in a certain place, like their home, their jail cell, their torture chamber or their job.

I wonder if decades from now, when I’m long gone, if my old office will be a source of entertainment. World renowned psychics will come in a say, “Yes, yes, in this corner, I feel a female energy. She used to sit here for hours. I’m getting a sad feeling now. She had a pain in her right wrist, like carpal tunnel. Music was the only thing that would make her feel better. I hear her, she keeps saying Pandora, Pandora. Her name is Pandora.”

Okay, maybe not.

They’ll know my name is Mari because my buy-it-in-bulk-to-save-money-10,000-count-business-cards will still be in the top drawer.

I was born with a widow's peak and a thick accent. I majored in English as a second language. I work (marianeladearmas.com) and travel (alittlecubangoesalongway.com) and sometimes do both.
